Spell checker
Spell checker using the GNU ASpell
engine.
Getting ASpell:
- Download the full installer package from http://aspell.net/win32 and install
it.
- Download desired dictionaries from the same page and install
them. There are currently 22 languages available.
Note: The ASpell installer should
setup the path to the DLL in registry. If SP is unable to load ASpell,
you can configure the path to the DLL in the Settings screen, Editor
tab. If the DLL is not available, the spell checker will be disabled.
The controls for spell-checker are:
- Dictionary: Select one of the
installed ASpell dictionaries.
- Codepage: Specify the codepage of
the subtitle text
- Only edited subtitle: Spell check
is limited only to the currently selected & edited subtitle.
Otherwise all the subtitles from the selected to the end will be
checked.
- Continue: Continue checking from
the cursor position
- Check spelling: Start spell
checking from the start of the edited subtitle.
During the checking process a Suggestion
menu may popup when a misspelled word is found. The word is
selected subtitle text editor. It is also displayed as a title of the
menu. The suggestion menu contains these commands:
- Ignore: ignore the selected word
- Ignore all occurrences: Ignore
all occurrences of this word during this checking process
- Add to personal dictionary: Add
the selected word to the dictionary.
- Add in lower case: Add the word
with all small letters
- Skip subtitle: Skip the edited
subtitle and continue with the next (if Only edited subtitle is
unchecked)
- Exit: End the spell checking
operation
- Suggestions: Suggested words,
under the More option are more suggested words. Upon selecting one of
the words the highlighted word is replaced with this word.
