Patches

Patches is function that allows to overcome the read-only nature of CDs and DVDs. Imagine you find an error in your subtitles, movie description or playlist (or they are in older format) on the disc. Unless it is a RW variant, you can't do anything about it except burning a new disc and throwing the old one in trash. With the patches function however, you can save the corrected file into the appropriate directory (configurable from Settings screen) and it will be then loaded whenever you load the old file.

For the DVDs, Patches function can automatically load your external subtitles from the patches folder. It can also load the playlist (with no items for DVD) where you can store the movie data for the OSD.

There are 4 types of patches in SP:

The patches are recognized by filenames. Patch file should have the same filename as the file you are trying to patch.

DVD patches are recognized by the volume label of the disc. Patch files names must start with the DVD volume label. They can be longer, but the first characters of the name must be the volume label.
